It makes sense to me and I always do tasmiya when i use a knife to kill the fish.

I would like to know if we are allowed to do hook fishing as sport or free time activity.

Obviously i eat the fish i catch but i could pay less to get the fish from market as food. I spend on equipment more. So the question is if hunting and fishing allowed out of necessity of food?

Hunting/Fishing is only allowed as a means of procuring food, not as a sport. As a principle, living things can only be killed for a justifiable purpose and it should be done in the most humane manner possible, given the situation.

If a better alternative can be found to fish, then it is recommended. Otherwise the best available method should be used.
