Me and my husband were discussing about divorce topic.i asked him how divorce processes.

He replied that if a specific man says to his wife that” I divorce you”.this sentence is not enough..we have to follow the law of our country and it’s orders regarding divorce process.he was explaining that we have to follow the court orders as it is also part of religion to respect country law of divorce.

But I was stucked in the phrase he use “I divorce you”

I asked him if he menat to gave an example ..he assured me that it was and example and he used someone else reference..he was not directly applying it to me..

But I’m still in state of doubts.

Is it consider as a divorce?

@Sabibilal and @Hulu had some questions related to OCD in the last month or so.

Would you be kind to share what is working for you and what is not?

Good to see that you folks take mental health seriously and reach out for guidance.

Previously before marriage my obsessions were about cleanliness, excessive washing of hands Plus doubts in ghusal and repeating the process again and again till I got exhausted and frustrated to an extreme level .I used to do things in numbers.like 10 times mostly in even numbers.. thoughts kept on appearing but I worked on myself and got my self out of that situation . became completely normal.

But after my marriage I started having religious thoughts and obsessions.. reccuring thought..and 24 7 my mind is thinking about what my husband said to me..what it means..why he said that ,what if it has a religious impact, what if it affects our Marriage.and I keep on thinking things and it’s affecting my relationship with my husband.

Good to know you were able to get out of cyclical thougts earlier. You just have to repeat it one more time.

      1) Please consult with a medical professional

      2) Changing lifestyle like daily excercise, spending time in nature for walks, hikes or anything else that your brain appreciates can help. You will need to find a set of activities that you like doing that can disconnect your brains from anxiety and excessive repeated thoughts that are totally useless. Spending quality time with a friend, who is “active” (a doer) might change your perspective on life and might help you get out of excessive thinking.

      3) Try meditation, see if that helps. It should

After speaking with zainab, I believe she is looking for specific religious advise for which I am not qualified. I will leave this link for people with similar afflictions to read about relationship OCD:

Having doubts and some intrusive thoughts does not necessarily mean you have OCD, however if your doubts reccur despite repeated education and reassurance, and affect your day to day functionality then u might have to consider it a disorder that should warrant professional consultation. As a person with her fair share of intrusive religious thoughts, sometimes you have to recognise the problem is not a religious one but a mental one.
