Assalamualaikum
As Ghamidi sahab clearly said that mother will be the head of the family, does that mean they financial responsibilities will be on her?
And if she is not able to fulfill that responsibilities and some son comes to fulfill that then will he/she be the head of the family?

In terms of relationship status, mother is superior to her son.
It depends on situation. Mother is not responsible to take care of her kids once they become adults. If they are small kids then of course it will be her responsibility.
