    1. In ending of surah baqarah, 2:284 – Allah is transferring the divine trust of guidance from Israelites to Ismailetes because the Israelites broke the covenant with God and shown with their actions that are not trustworthy.

Its understandable that God is transfering the trust of divine guidance based on merit but afterwards why does God say that he forgives whomsoever he likes and punishes whomsoever he wills.

    2. I have read/heard in philosophical debates that if God want he can even forgive firouwn and nobody is there to question him.

    3. Whats the meaning of the test of life when God does not check merit of the person in muslim ummah but instead loves or hates someone based on his arbitary choices. Whats the point of doing good deeds and abstaining from bad deeds when in aakhirah all boils down to God’s hate or love? Is God love based on his slave merit or based on his arbitary choice? Is God’s love attached to a slave’s God or Bad deeds or Is it God’s arbitary choice?

God has made it very clear in the Quran that His forgiveness and punishment are on merit. When He says whoever He wills, He will forgive and punish, it indicates that no one can force Him, He will do according to His will, and His will decides according to the merit. Moreover, His mercy never exceeds the limit when it comes to injustice.
