Marriage Issue
I am muslim and I married a practicing muslim man. It’s been 2 years and now we have a daughter Allhamdulilah. However, my husband just disclosed it to me that he doesn’t follow islam anymore. He has stopped going for prayers or fasting or even reciting quran or duas. When I asked him why has he decided this for himself he gave me two reasons. According to him, it doesn’t make sense that God and universe are two different things. They are one and islam says otherwise. Secondly there are brutal punishments in islam for crimes that a person commits due to certain mindset/upbringing- for example chopping hands if someone has done robbery when they clearly need guidance. I told him that I want to practice islam and want the same for our daughter. He said he wont interfere in our religion. However, what I found was that i can not stay in this marriage. I told him this and he said there is no such ruling proven from quran or ahadis where this marriage is terminated. And he gave me example of prophets daughter who rescued her kafir husband after badr and continued her marriage. Now I have no knowledge in this matter. Please guide me about this. Is my nikkah still valid? Also if someone can clarify these questions my husband have about existence, it will be great. He said if anyone can prove it logically that god and universe are seperate entities I have no problem reverting back to islam.
