Quran 18:94 – Gog And Magog
Assalamualaikum
Ghamidi sahab puts his argument on established history. But in three interpretation of the gog and magog verse in the Quran, he is basing his argument on history from Bible?
And secondly, is there any example on that the words gog and magog had the same meaning in the 7th century arabia as Ghamidi sahab is taking it?

Ghamidi sahab’s opinion was well known so didn’t wrote that, but Quran 18:90.
قَالُوۡا یٰذَاالۡقَرۡنَیۡنِ اِنَّ یَاۡجُوۡجَ وَ مَاۡجُوۡجَ مُفۡسِدُوۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ فَہَلۡ نَجۡعَلُ لَکَ خَرۡجًا عَلٰۤی اَنۡ تَجۡعَلَ بَیۡنَنَا وَ بَیۡنَہُمۡ سَدًّا ﴿۹۴﴾
Footnote 94: Both of them are from the progeny of Noah’s son Japeth which inhabits the northern areas of Asia. In the scripture of Ezekiel, they are introduced as the rulers of Rosh, Meshek and Tobal. Ezekiel says:
The word of the Lord came to me: Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Rosh, Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him. (Ezekiel, 38, 1-2)
Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel. (Ezekiel, 39, 1-2)

Again which argument are you specifically referring to? This passage is only relating an event of the past. Since we do not have any details in the Quran, the available details are shared from the Bible in a footnote.
References are required even when something is considered well known by you. It cannot be assumed that every reader of the question will know the background information.

That he is interpreting Quran in the light of history from Bible. Like does that information about Gog and Magog present in Ahadith or established history. If not then how is he trusting on that information from Bible especially in the interpretation of such only prediction made by Quran??
