Assalamualaikum!
Why did Imam Muslim accept the narration of Saabit Al Bunani in case of Mairaj? And why did he reject the narrations brought by Imam Bukhari in his Sahih?
How can we prove from the literal text of Al Bunani’s narration that it has combined two different occasions?
Why can’t we believe that the Mairaj narrations brought by Imam Bukhari omit the complete happening?

Every researcher researches according to his capacities. They reach sometimes different results. One may not be fully satisfied with a narration’s authenticity or reliability but in some other research, it proved authentic and reliable. What Ghamidi Saheb has proved through his research is presented with arguments. In this world of research and academics, things are not proven in such a way that it leaves no room for any other opinion. Things are accepted and rejected on the basis of probability and the strength of arguments.

Can we prove from the literal text of Al Bunani’s narration that it has combined two different occasions?
I mean to say that when narrators combine 2 different occasions into one, does it reflect in the text of that narration? (P.S: I have not studied Arabic language)
