Nihilism, Suicide Of A Fellow
My request is that can ghamidi sahab discuss the issue of different philosophies that affect the mind of youngsters these days and sort of rip the light out of the living body, colorless life.
Yesterday a fellow of my university did suicide. By seeing his Facebook account it seemed as if he came to extreme nihilistic point that he concluded that there is no meaning to life, nothing of intrinsic value, nothing worth living for. Obviously because of philosophy, he was agnostic as well. But this nihilistic philosophy made him reach a point where he saw no difference in dying naturally after many years or now by gun. He kept posting different things that showed about his nihilistic thinking, months ago he had planned for suicide. His calendar on hostel room had marked this date, preplanned for today. Suicide done by 12 am, while lecture on philosophy playing in the speaker, Instagram ID changing from (I_am_abdullah) to (I_was_abdullah).
Yes he was also in depression for long time and was taking psychotic drugs. And all these things point out towards his nihilistic thinking. Obviously when someone believes there is nothing of long lasting intrinsic value then there’s nothing except depression for him
