Quran As Primary Source Of Deen
I’m confused about how the Qur’an can be the origin of deen when it keeps referring to events from the Prophet’s life without fully explaining them. Take Surah Anfāl: Allah talks about what happened at Badr, but the Qur’an doesn’t name Badr directly. So how do we even know it’s Badr? If that knowledge comes from outside the Qur’an, then it means the Qur’an isn’t the only source we’re relying on.
People say we get this context from Hadith, but Ghamidi sahib says Hadith can’t add anything new to religion — it can only explain what is already established. If that’s the case, then where exactly does the historical reference come from? If it’s not Hadith, and the Qur’an doesn’t give the full story, then what are we depending on?
I’ve gone through Ghamidi sahib’s books and videos, but I’m still confused. If there’s any specific place where he explains this clearly, I’d appreciate it.
