    Assalamualaikum!

The question of shooting stars is mostly asked from the perspective of their scientific reason vs metaphysical aspect described in the Quran. And this has been adequately answered by Ghamidi Saheb multiple times.

I want to know something different.

    Surah Mulk verse 5-6:

Do the ‘chiraagh’/lamps mentioned here mean the stars only?

And if they do, and it’s also said here that these lamps themselves become the shooting stars as defense(direct relation), then how come it be true when we know that shooting stars are actually meteors which have no direct relationship with stars visible in the night sky?

Most common sources of shooting stars are comets and asteroids that are orbiting in the solar system.

And when they enter the Earth’s atmosphere is when they become visible as ‘shooting’. Whereas the stars /lamps made my Allah swt with which He has beautified the sky are millions of light years away.

These are two different phenomena. What we see happens in the atmosphere. What the Qur’an cites takes place somewhere else where jinns attempt to listen to the conversation of the angels.

We know that the so called shooting stars have NOTHING directly to do with stars.

The phrase used in brackets

is used for both, the presence of stars, and the shooting stars that are seen.

If we’re talking about phenomenon taking place beyond visibility, why would the verse say

And it’s usually Quran’s style to talk about those signs that could be seen by mushrikeen themselves.

This point can further be elaborated from other verses in Quran where this is discussed.
