Why Was Mutah Allowed ?

According to the Farahi school, It was never allowed in Islam. God has established the institution of family, because of the proper upbringing of their offspring. They should be clear that they are getting married for a lifetime.

I understand that. But is the story about the prophet allowing it not correct then? Where did this concept enter islam. I think a detailed video about it would be a good idea.
