In the context of restricting the numbers of wives one can have at a time, why Quran sets the maximum limit to 4….why not less or more(3 or 5) what is the logic behind this…

And why has Quran repeated the words two, three and four….what is the logic of this repetition…or eloquence.

God knows the capacity of man to him have the maximum number of wives that is four.

The mention of the number as two two, three, three and four four is to indicate the freedom of choice. This is the common style found in other languages, too. For example, one says to ones kids, you can buy shirts for you, two two or three three. Here he means that each can buy two or three shirts.
