Zakat On Money Received By Disabled Brother
Aslamualikum, My brother is 20 years old and having intellectual disability, He receive monthly payment from the government like living expenses! around $2000 per month! He lives with my parents who provide him everything, so the money he gets goes to his bank account, My mother intention to save the money later adding some more she will buy house or any property for him later in life. My question Does she need to pay zakat on that amount if so how to calculate?

Saving money for a basic need does not incur Zakat, otherwise, she would pay 2.5 percent of the saving, if it exceeds the minimum threshold Nisab.
