Aoa, in Quran it is forbidden to eat the meat on which the name of any other god besides Allah is mentioned while slaughtering that animal. If the animal is slaughtered by say an agnostic who didn’t mention the name of any god including Allah, is this meat permissible? If not then why?

Thank you for the reply. Can you tell me the opinion of other three schools of Sunni thought regarding this issue?

All the scholars agree on this issue, except for Imam Shafi’i who thinks that if a Muslim does not pronounce the name of God while slaughtering an animal, the meat is still halal.
