Is Racism A Major Sin Or A Minor One?
Does saying racist stuff to a person ( like making fun of their looks, ethnicity, skin colour, culture etc. ) count as a major sin or a minor one? What if somebody provokes you first (not necessarily with racism) and you respond with racism?

It is a major sin because it is a direct attack on another person’s honour. Also it is a reflection of pride and vanity on the part of perpetrator. These are all major sins and should be avoided. Show of pride and vanity goes against the ten commandments of Quran, whose violation result in a major sin according to Ghamidi Sahab.

My question is, what if the other side attacks us first ( not necessarily with racism but with different kinds of things) and this is the easiest way to respond to them? As you know, Hindu nationalist trolls like to annoy South asian Muslims online these days with attacks against our religion, calling us foreign invaders/arabs/turks, calling for the rape/conversion of Muslim women of the subcontinent, spreading falsehoods against us etc. and often the easiest way to shut down these trolls is by resorting to racism. They’re obviously not for any debates there, so no amount of debating them politely is gonna help, they just do this to anger the Muslims and insult them in one way or the other. What should we do in such situations?
