Selling A MOD APK Website (apkedito.com) — Seeking Islamic Guidance
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,
I have a website named apkedito.com where I’ve been sharing modified versions of popular apps like CapCut Pro and similar tools. I initially started this website to generate some passive income online, as I have limited resources and no stable job.
Recently, I began reading discussions and fatwas that made me think deeper about whether this kind of work is actually halal or not. I’ve realized that maybe this work — sharing MOD APKs — might fall under unethical or impermissible digital activities.
I genuinely want to stop this work and start something better, something 100% halal and clean — like a freelancing career, a new website, or an online service-based business. But I’m stuck with one question:
✳️ Can I sell my existing MOD APK website (https://apkedito.com) and use that money to start something halal?
I put in months of effort, writing content, optimizing the site, and getting it approved for ads. I want to let go of this project, but I don’t have any other source of investment right now. If I sell it and use that money for a better path, will that be okay Islamically?
Also, another question that often confuses me:
✳️ What’s the Islamic ruling for developers or designers who build or work on such websites? Is their income considered halal if they’re offering a technical service but not actually promoting haram content themselves?
I know many people in this field face similar confusion, so I wanted to post this to get some real guidance, insha’Allah.

If something is unethical, running and selling it are unethical and income is not halal.
According to the market standards you need to determine if providing modified versions of apps is unethical or not.
