In many hadees narrations it is reported that prophet Muhammad would do 2 qurbani…one for himself and one on the behalf of ummah..

It is also narrated that he advised Hazrat Ali to continue the same act…

My question is if deeds, on the behalf of others, are not accepted or valid unless his intentions are not involved..they how was qurbani done for the people who are yet not born or may be have no intentions….and how does one qurbani qualifies for the whole ummah.?

The Prophet had a special status as the representative of the Ummah. It was his prerogative to do a nafal ritual on behalf of his Ummah.

It is not forbidden for others to do an act of good for others’ behalf; however, it avails good only when it is asked for.
