In my understanding, shower and Ghusl are the same acts but In order to achieve purity as required by religion, that shower needs to be a proper shower, with due effort and due regard given to achieving proper cleanliness. Once that has been done, there is no need for separate wudu.

What is the evidence that wudu would be done if you just do a normal shower with the intention of wudu?

Oh that makes sense. Because the ayah doesn’t say ‘when you rise to prayer … or if you are ceremonially unclean bathe and do wudu’ it just says bathe and then I guess pray

But then what about the rulings concerning if you break ‘wudu’ during ghusl by passing wind?

Please read the complete verse again, its very clear.

If Ghusal is still in progress, it can make up for that. Or else, one can repeat from wuzu again if doing according to uswa of Prophet (sws).

I don’t get it. What if one passes wind in the process of doing wudu? I’ll try to find the thread where @Irfan76 said that you have to do wudu if you pass wind during ghusl

If only it were that easy 😅…

What is the reason for this though. The Quran doesn’t seem to touch on this specific matter. Is it just ijtihaad?
