Failure Of Islamic Philosophers
Why are the Islamic philosophers seen as heretics. The efforts of Muslim philosophers (the Mu’tazilah, Ibn Sina, Al Farabi, etc.) to prove the existence of Allah via philosophy are seen as useless and they are seen as heretics or sometimes even kafir. Yes, ultimately they only prove that there is a creator and not that the creator is Allah but isn’t that a step in the right direction? I mean we can pick up from the established premise that there is a creator and continue to bring arguments that the creator is the author of the Quran. Should we not try every route we can to prove the existence of allah. I know Ghazali did his critiques and all but does that mean kalam or theology is a better route to take then. A route that would not lead to unislamic ideas that the philosophers might have in their works.

How do they prove God? All they do is do tamtheel of God by ascribing the sifah of causality to him. They take God to be the necessary being. This is again tamtheel. Necessary being and probable beings and impossible beings are all human concepts and cannot be ascribed to God
