There are Hadith which says that the Gabriel(AS) did not came because of the presence of dog and The Prophet(SWA) took some strict action towards this issue.

To be honest, I still did not find any words in favor of keeping dog as pet inside the home( puppy or fancy dog) but still I got always same answer that it’s not prohibited. My question still their that, kindly guide me where it’s allowed to have a puppy inside the house.

In that forum, Hassan Ilyas sb has reviewed ahadees about Dogs. Listen to that for clearing misconceptions about hadith.
About keeping pets, if u can ensure there will be no filth due to animal or u properly clean then you can keep the pet as mentioned by Faisal sb response in that thread.

Why do you expect anything in Islam to explicitly favor keeping pet dogs. There have been some misconceptions in this regard and the videos in the above post attempt to clarify them. Otherwise like many other things, this is not a subject of religion.
