  • Question Regarding Beasts In Sea

    Assalamoalaikum Brothers,

Can anyone please share a link where Ustaz Javaid Ahmad Ghamidi Sahab answered below question.

How do we define which fish or sea animal is considered a beast in the sea from Islamic perspective and will be considered Haram just is the case of Pork? as all big fishes mostly eat small fishes or small sea creatures?

Just trying to understand if I apply the rule that Ustaz Sb explained regarding understanding of Pork being made Haram as it is a beast and eats meat and plants so to avoid ambiguity Allah ordered We will take it as a beast therefore it is Haram.

    JazakAllah Khair.

Aquatic Predators are Haram as are the land predators are Haram. It is the way of preying which determine an animal is beast or not. Chicken too eats insects and worms but it is not a beast so is halal. So if fish eat other fish but not in a way a beast tears and chews its prey, it is not a beast, so not Haram.
