  • Marriage Before Repenting For Fornication

If someone get married and repents for fornication after his marriage then will the marriage be accepted?.

According to Dr. Zakir naik and many scholars one must repent first for his/her fornication then he/she can marry but there are also many scholars who says it doesn’t matter when the repenting take place but one must repent before his death bed.

Since repentance is a matter between that person and the God; ideally that person should’ve repented before the marriage, but delaying repentance after marriage cannot be held a reason to invalidate that person’s marriage.

Why can’t it hold a reason for invalidating that person’s marriage?.

Isn’t it compulsory to repent before marriage if the case is not reported? Even Ghamidi sahab said that repenting is the only way for someone to be pure again for marriage.

There’s no gauge available to know of a person’s repentance state at a state level.

Unless one is covicted of fornication at a state level, no one has a right to declare other person guilty of this crime and hence invalidating his Nikah based on his lack of repentance. Therefore, in such a case, the matter rests between the person and the God. If he didn’t repent sincerely then he’d have to be accountable to God on the day of judgement.

I am unable to understand. It’s obvious that no one has the right to declare anyone of this crime but the person himself knows what he has done. Also like if the person repents sincerly but after his nikkah. So won’t this invalidate his marriage?

Isn’t it that if the case is not reported then such people have to repent to be chaste again for marriage?.

      Who will invalidate that marriage?

For a marriage to be invalidated, there needs to be an intervention from State which is not possible unless state convicts someone of fornication. In its absence, the matter rests between the preson and the God. He should repent before marriage but if he failed or did it later at some point, then final decision rests with God. We neither have any authority nor any evidence to intervene in that marriage.
