    Assalamualaikum

If one would try to determine the genre of Quran, what would it be from the genres we are familiar with. Like if i would say then it seems to be that like a film which starts from the middle of some event, e.g accident and then shows the background and all that of even like how people got ready for going on car and which mistake lead to accident. Similarly does Quran starts from the middle, Prophet SAW in medinah and then explains the background etc.

Yes, but Quran starts from the second state of preaching which is in Medinah, and in between is there a little mention of makkans. So can it be said as i understood it above?

It is somewhat like sermons, an orator talking to different people in different tones.

Yes, but it seems to be irregular rather than chronological. What rationale would one give for that?

It is not irregular, rather not chronological. The rationale is given in the preface of Al Bayan by Ghamidi saheb. Kindly visit the website javedahmadghamid.org or ghamidi app for mobile phone.
