    Hello there Assallam u alaikum

For example if Ali goes to a city to live for sometime. and he meets his friend Zain there. When Zain gets to know that Ali is here and is looking for a house to live in for 3 months.

Ali had done lots of big favors for Zain a few years back. Some of those favors were Haram actions, some of them were Halal action.

When Ali met Zain. Zain told him “I remember that you did one big favor for me on that day, such and such specific favor (this favor was Haram action). I would like to offer you to live in my house for 3 months as a return favor for that thing, do you agree to take this offer as a return for that favor?”.

Ali being unaware that if he takes this offer for staying at his house (analogous to a tenant) then this permission will be similar to a Haram earning (based on getting a return for Haram action/favor). And Ali accepted it, and by acceptance of this from both sides, they both entered a sort of silent agreement that Ali will live there as a return for his favor he had done for Zain (which was Haram action).

Now for Ali it was Haram to live their like that. Ali lived their for a month and then he became aware that his living there will remain Haram because he sort of earned this permission to live their from it’s owner based on Haram action. and now he’s worried and willing to correct things and mistakes.

Can he go and tell Zain that, it will remain Haram for him to live their under this agreement because he got it for return of Haram action. so he explained Zain everything that a Haram action is never worth rewarding and whatever reward he gets as a return for it, remains Haram to utilize. wanted Zain to end this agreement mutually and expressed his wish if Zain can offer him the remaining 2 months stay in this city with in his house, with a new agreement that he offers his house stay, out of love as being friends. or either take money for 2 months just like a general tenant.

Zain also realized that he’ll remain sinful if he offers something as a reward for someone’s Haram action. so they both realized it and ended the agreement and made a new agreement where Ali will straight up pay money to live their for 2 months.

Will now the staying of Ali at his house for 2 months remaining, will they become Halal? because he now acquired them based on Halal money payment.?

Yes the second agreement is lawful. There is nothing objectionable.

@Irfan76 sir in case, even if before finishing the first agreement, if Ali already had in mind that he will make a new halal agreement as soon as he finishes this one, the second agreement will become halal, right? Here he was getting rid of Haram agreement because he was already determined to throw away Haram, but while doing this he also had idea that he can replace it with halal, and this brought peace in his heart too.

and sir in case of, the house of Zain was the most convenient and good option for Ali and other houses were. having different different problems. as Ali was a little bit weak in will power so if there was no way to make his next 2 months of living halal there him, he might have continued to live there keeping the first agreement intact, alongside a feeling of regret that he’s sinning. but as soon as he got to know of this alternative. he decided immediately to finish the first agreement, so that it can be replaced with a halal agreement, and now he can live there without sin. I mean here in this case his intention for finishing the first agreement, was so that it can be replaced with halal agreement quickly and he can continue to benefit from this house. will in this case he’ll also be halal after he does such thing?

Sir can you tell me about both these cases? in case 1, where he was getting rid because he was determined to get rid, while also feeling a peace in heart that he can renew.

In case 2, where the reason for getting rid of Haram agreement was to replace it with halal agreement so he can live in the same house without sinning, and as the nature of this man is, he did not have the will power to dispose this Haram agreement if it was not replaceable, he would have continued staying with a regret.

in both these cases, the new agreement made this way will remain halal and valid? and will the person in case 2 get sin for disposing of his Haram earning (of permission to live in house for 2 months), so that he can acquire it again through halal means?

If he is helpless and can’t survive he can maintain the first agreement and if he can end it but ignored it is his choice and will be answerable for his laziness.

@Irfan76 no I mean sir he has the choice to end it, but the reason for ending it (disposing of what he earned unlawfully) was only so that it can be available again for him to be acquired lawfully by paying halal money.

in other words he disposes that item with intention that it becomes available for him to acquire lawfully and thus in this way he won’t earn sin. will such an endeavor be okay and the new agreement based on halal money, will be halal?

There is no problem with this arrangement.
