Dress Code Of A Woman In A Gym
Posted by Wareesha Khan on October 19, 2024 at 10:06 am

Moderator October 22, 2024 at 1:25 amA muslim woman should not wear tight revealing clothes. There is no harm in wearing pants/shirt, but they should neither be too tight nor too revealing. When in the company of the opposite gender, a man and woman should both abide by the norms of gender interaction as per Quran:
It is recommended to opt for a women’s only gym but if such an option is not available, then norms of gender interaction should be followed while going to the mixed gym.

The Social Shariah: (9) Norms Of Gender Interaction (Parda / Hijab) - Ask Ghamidi

Moderator October 23, 2024 at 9:46 amYou can make your decision in the light of the above principles. Dress should be neither too tight nor too revealing.
Among the given options, I would consider the last option (in black) better than the rest. But if I could find another option better than the last one, then I would consider that.

Moderator October 24, 2024 at 9:43 amThe principle has been made clear above. One can apply it to their situatoon. It is not possible to comment on each and every type of dressing.
Men and Women both should cover their private parts and areas annexed to those parts as well. For women, their chest area is also private, hence requiring more care. However, both should wear clothes that are neither too tight nor too revealing of those parts. Jeans can be worn by both genders and a person should make sure that they abide by these guidelines. let the person decide what he or she should wear in the light of the above principle.

Moderator October 31, 2024 at 5:52 pmA Muslim woman should wear a dress that abides by the principles mentioned above. There are Muslim women who are international athletes and they take proper care of their attire as well.

Member June 19, 2026 at 2:29 pmFrom I understand with my reasoning the main purpouse is cover private part and to make sure that the private part is covered well you shoud cover the part near that, but if you can cover properly then in my opinion you can show it but you should cover al least a part near that private to be sure to cover properly.of course bikini is not right even if is not the Fawahis declared in Quran.
The sin is in showing private parts, not the part near.
Then of course one shoul wear modesty depending on the society, contest, and time and place.
Etiquettes of prayer are different, you don’t show in front of God in bikini or underwers.
And to protect you private part you don’t wear thight and transprent clothes.
Personaly i don’t feed attracted by a women if she wears short during sport (if not thight)i don’t feed to sexualise her thight.
This is my reasoning and i May be wrong but I did it contestualizing Quran, understaing society and diffiucukties, and understanding prophet period and other things.
If I wrong may Allah forgive me ameen
