Marriage with the people of the Book, Jews and Christians is allowed. Shia are Muslims so marriage with them is allowed too. Now, how you persuade your parents is what you have to figure out according to your situation.

Children receive influences from both side, so couples should decide before marriage how they would like to bring up their children.

It depends upon the people how they deal with their differences. They can give space to each others beliefs and practices and can escalate the differences to make it a matter of Islam and kufr. It all depends on many social and cultural factors.

“They can give space to each others beliefs and practices” : If we have difference in sects here, the other aspects are still compatible. Is it necessary that I will find all aspects in another person to be compatible with me. In marriage we have to compromise on certain things. The compromise here is to marry in other sect. Is this compromise worth if all other compatibility issues are addressed.

“It all depends on many social and cultural factors.”: Kindly give details as per your wisdom

Regarding Children: As per the compromise, Children will be given religious education and upbringing as per all the injunctions that Shias and Sunnis have in common. If there is any difference, the Sunni beliefs which are proven or valid as per Quran, Hadith or Sunnah will get precedence. (e.g., They will offer Salah as per Sunni beliefs, go to Sunni Darasgah etc). However, they will also be taught the love and respect for Ahle Bayat (RA) and that of all the Four Khulfa-e-Rashideen (RA) and all the wives (RA) of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) (Ummul-Momineen) in light of Quranic commands and Hadiths in this matter. On some special / important occasions, they can also attend Muharram, Ashura rituals e.t.c and can also offer Nimaz in Shia Majid and attend Shia Majalis in Imam Bargah when they are in Shia dominated areas.

Regarding the question of teaching Imamat to the children: As it remains the most important difference between Shia and Sunni beliefs, to find the commonality, Muhammad (S.A.W) will be considered as the only Imam which is agreed by both Shias and Sunnis alike.

Summarizing the process: Children will be taught in the way which is common between Shias and Sunnis and permissible and valid as per Quran, Sunnah and Hadith (Shahi Al-Bukhari, Shahi Muslim and Nahjul Balagha or other sources mutually agreed by both of us). Sunni beliefs will get precedence if differences arise. Still if any issue remains unresolved, the Holy Quran will be taken as final and definitive authority for resolution of such issues.

Kindly comment on this compromise solution out of your wisdom.

Children are humans. Theu will take their decision.

Social and cultural aspects cause conflicts like she might want to celebrate Muharram and your family objects etc.

This is what you have to deal with according to your situation. There is no one way solution to these problems.
