  • If Mehmed II Fulfilled The Prophecy, How Do We Justify Him Killing His Brothers?

If Sultan Mehmed II fulfilled the hadith about the conquest of Constantinople and will be”forgiven,” how do we reconcile that with him killing his infant brother?

This is something that really puzzled me. The Prophet ﷺ is reported to have said:

“Indeed, Constantinople will be conquered, and what a great leader is its leader, and what a great army is its army.”

Mehmed fulfilled this prophecy, but at the same time, he practiced fratricide, killing his own infant brother to secure his rule. How does this align with the idea of being “forgiven”? Does fulfilling a prophecy override moral actions?
What if a hadith conflicts with moral principles? How do we reconcile faith and ethics?
Same for Yazid ibn Mu’awiya. It’s said he was part of the first Muslim siege of Constantinople how does that align with what he later did?
    Jazakallah.

Please first understand “what is hadiths” here Discussion 84980

As a principle, we say anything goes against Quran will be disregarded. One thing is for sure, there will be no injustice on the day of judgment.

However, if this hadith authentic as majority believes, even it don’t say that they will be forgiven for their wrongdoings. It just a prophecy for fall of Constantinople.
If you read about conquest, you will also be amed about the resolve of the Commanders and the army.
