There can be many reasons. Change of situation is one. Another narrated in the Quran itself for eg the Jews was that they were unruly so they had more prohibitions. But core morality was always the same

Yes!! This is exactly what i was wanting to ask. Was core morality the same? Is there a way to verify this? Perhaps, previous scriptures?
