It is not an innovation in Deen. Innovation in Deen means an innovation in the content of Deen, claiming it to be part of Deen. For example, prescribed 5 prayers and and the mathod of performing them, these are the contents of Deen. If someone adds something more or different to them , it would be an innovation.
