According to Quran Surah baqarah ayat no 7:

“Allah has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment.”

while i was reading it, i came across question about the style in which quran reffered to hearts, eyes and ears. Here I was confused that why eyes and ears are used after hearts, as the ultimate source point of hidayat stems from the heart, then why mention eyes and ears if they also converge to heart and facilitate the very purpose of hidayat. Couldn’t that purpose have been achieved if only sealing of hearts were reffered. kindly clarify it. Also if reference of some ulema’s commentary be provided, it would be of very much help. Jazakallah

The Qur’an speaks in a literary style. It uses literary devices. These are idiomatic expressions. When people do not realize the truth after watching Ans listen it, it means their they are blind and deaf and the Qur’an out it another way.
