About Prophet Jesus Return
I have come across a narration attributed to Abu Huraira, in which the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) states, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross, kill the pig, and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims under the protection of the Muslim government). Then there will be an abundance of money, and nobody will accept charitable gifts.”
Considering your stance on the belief of Jesus’ return, I am a bit confused about how this Hadith aligns with the view that Jesus will not return in the future. Since this narration clearly mentions his descent as a just ruler in the future, I would appreciate your clarification on this matter. Does this Hadith imply that the return of Jesus is an established part of Islamic eschatology, or is there another interpretation?
