Second Marriage
Can a man marry a second woman with the intention of helping her or earning reward (sawab), and is there any room for this in Islam, even to a small extent? His situation is such that he believes not telling his first wife is better, because telling her would deeply hurt her. He is confident that he can manage both without causing harm, so to avoid emotional damage to his first wife, can he keep the second marriage hidden? Is this permissible in Islam?

This is the wrong strategy. The first wife, sooner or later, will come to know, and then it will hurt her more. It is better to inform her before one goes for a second marriage, or both will be ruined.
