    Assallam u alaikum,

My question is that is it sinful to not say Salam when greeting to another Muslim? And what about if someone says Salam to us, would it be sinful to not reply them with Salam, and instead talking about something else?

Sin should be felt as sinful.

To say peace to others or receving from them can’t be a sin.

@Irfan76 sir you understood me wrong.

What I meant to say is that negelcting /not saying Salam while greeting, will this be sinful?

For example I meet a muslim friend and while coming closer to interact, I without any excuse chose to only say Hello, but omitted saying Salam, will such thing be minor sin?

You need to understand what sin is. Sin is disobeying God. God did not oblige to say salam to non Muslims.

Still, it is not obligatory. It is about manners.
