    After being granted the status of prophethood by Allah, do the trials of the prophets still continue in a way that could determine whether they end up in Paradise or not? Or is it that before God grants them prophethood, their testing is already complete and their eternal fate—such as being destined for Paradise—is already decided?

    It is clearly mentioned in the Quran that prophets had to fulfill their duties, and if they didn’t do that, they would face severe punishment. The prophet Yunus was caged in the belly of a fish, and when he repented then he was released.

    Moreover, because of their wrong judgments, they were warned by God

    See the following verses

    وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ ‎﴿٤٤﴾‏ لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ ‎﴿٤٥﴾‏ ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ ‎﴿٤٦﴾‏ فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ ‎

    فَلَوْلَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ ‎﴿١٤٣﴾‏ لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

    عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ‎﴿١﴾‏ أَن جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَىٰ ‎﴿٢﴾‏ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰ ‎﴿٣﴾‏ أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ ‎
