The Exodus Of Gog Megog
As Ghamidi Sahib explains, Yajooj and Majooj are descendants of the Ya’fisi people, who today occupy much of the world, including Central Asia, China, Russia, Europe, and even America.
Looking at history, particularly starting from the Mongol invasions, we see a tribe emerging from the north that reshaped the world map and gradually migrated to other regions. Remarkably, about 1,000 years after the time of Prophet Muhammad, the global map witnessed significant shifts.
It appears that the exodus of Yajooj and Majooj occurred long ago, and today, they continue to exert influence and dominate across the world.
The Quran mentions that the exodus of Yajooj and Majooj will take place near the end times, but this “nearness” is not meant to be measured by our human scales of time. As Amiin Ahsan Islaahi explains in his tafseer, what seems far away to us may be extremely close in the sight of Allah.
When we examine history through this lens, an intriguing pattern emerges: it appears that the exodus itself may have already occurred long ago. Today, their descendants are spread across the world, influencing and dominating vast regions, from Central Asia and Europe to Russia, China, and even the Americas.
Seen this way, what the Quran describes as a future event aligns with historical migration and expansion, reminding us that divine timing often surpasses our own understanding.
