Ustaz Ghamidi sahab wears trousers below ankles but doesn’t wear gold while both are related to arrogance.

    What is the justification?

Lowering the shalwar or Tehband below the ankles was a fashion of old Arabs to show arrogance. It is not known for arrogance in our culture.

Is it permissible to wear gold or silk if no intention of pride is involved?

It is not about intention, but how the culture perceives it. One needs to avoid the signs and symbols that are considered a show of arrogance.

But Irfan sahab, in case of the izar incident, the Prophet (pbuh) highlighted that Abu bakr doesn’t do it out pride. Regardless of how the culture would have perceived it.

    Narrated Abdullah bin ‘Umar:

The Prophet said Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection at the person who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit. On that Abu Bakr said, “O Allah’s Apostle! One side of my Izar hangs low if I do not take care of it.” The Prophet sald, ‘You are not one of those who do that out of conceit

You can see the prophet had to explain it because it was considered a sign of arrogance. If you can keep expalaning to others, you can adopt them.
