Maintenance After Khula
Only Moderator Answer please.
The wife requested a Khula, and the husband agreed to it. The wife kept the Mahr and some gifts; in return, the husband asked to see the children at least three days a week. The wife verbally agreed to these terms, and the husband pronounced the divorce. However, after the divorce, the wife refused to sign the written agreement, demanding additional concessions. A year has passed, and the wife is now taking the husband to court in Australia for a financial settlement and full custody of the children. Right she allows him to see kids for 2 days only for few hours.
Is she Islamically correct? If yes, then how long should a husband pay to his ex wife for maintenance?
The husband already pays the child support decided by govt. Of Australia. Apart from this can the wife ask for more?
