It was a mosque built by the prophet Dawood and Sulaiman. It has been called the mosque Al Aqsa, which means the mosque from a far land. This is the temple. There is no separate al Aqsa mosque there. Hazrat Umar built another mosque within the boundaries of this great moque for Muslim which was first called Masjid e Umar. Later some people stared calling it Masjid e Aqsa.
This is place of worship and Jews Christians and Muslims should be allowed to visit it and worship there.
