I am a university going student and have a fair amount of savings which I want to invest but due to my time constraint (classes in working time) I cannot focus on investing in equities and associated mutual funds which have high risk profile. This limits my investment option to keeping that money in safe fixed income deposits but the problem I face is religious. Debt security funds lend the money mostly to government, invest in bonds and sukuks which I have doubt of being problematic. If any financial expert can advise that whether the low risk debt securities come under definition of interest(with reason)? If yes then what can be other good options to opt for

    Dear Irfan Shahzad sb!

There was no clear answer in the mentioned linked video. My all concepts regarding Charity, loan, Riba and business are clear and I have already watched interest series of ghamidi sb(including 23 questions and 4 episodes in al maurid Lahore) but still there was no mention to investment in debt securities, bonds etc and for that very reason I am trying to attain clarity on the matter. if possible kindly provide specific details with reasons.

One can invest their money in any way they deem fit as long as there is no moral and ethical problem associated with that investment for example, riba/sood, investments in Haram business, Investments having unfair terms of contracts for the other party etc. etc. For a common muslim, there is also room available to invest in Islamic Savings Schemes which claim to be project based financings like the ones offered by Islamic Banks or Government based Islamic Certificates (e.g. Naya Pakistan Islamic Certificates).
