    Assalamualikum,

    It is known that in God’s temple in Jerusalem and throughout the history of Islam sacrifices were made on altars and burnt.

    Echoes of this are also found across ancient religions like Zoroastrianism, Vedic Hinduism even Chinese religions

    However we don’t see anything like this in the Sunnah of Rasulullah (saws) why is that?

    Sacrifice of animals on the occasion of Hajj in Makkah is the same ritual. However just like other nafal acts of worship the ritual of sacrifice if animals has been extended. So Muslims can sacrifice them anywhere in the name of God.

      Even on hajj we don’t sacrifice on altars, do we?
