Our nature tells us what is evil. We apply this innate knowledge to all the evils around us.

Sir, why our innate knowledge does not work when its at the time when its needed most. Regretting later is its own agony for the pious people. This hadith clearly mentions that – https://sunnah.com/muslim:1695b.

If innate knowledge is already written as a code into us then we should not be able to override it and it should make us stop. What good is innate knowledge if its getting overwritten by external circumstances.?

Our nature has nothing good and bad in it. Then we have emotions and intellect. Emotional drove is restricted by intellect. This is the conflict without us and choice is ours. The one who controls his emotions and makes good choice is rewarded.
