I have gone through the concept of Itemam e Hujjat but unable to find answes for two questions.

    1. If Allah had decided that the mushrik are to be killed, why were they given a chance again during Fatah e Makkah ?

    2. Is Itemam e Hujjat applied on individual basis or communal ? I mean if during Prophet Muhammad SAWW, it was done through swords, then why some Sahaba became subjects of it? As the punishment is meant only for rejectors .

In surah Tawbah in the beginning of the Surah the polytheists were warned that they would be killed after the month of Hajj that is Muharram. This provided them a chance it becomes Muslims, so they did. The people of Makkah were not exempted, but they became Muslims after the conquest before the end of the month of Hajj. They were relieved from killing on the day of the conquest of Makkah but were not exempted from last verdict of annihilation.

Sahaba were used as tools to punish the culprits but it was also their test, too. They received martyrdom.

The decisions in the law of Itmam e Hujjah is taken for community and therefore sometimes individuals are ignored.
