Hadith Prohibiting Touching Non Mahrams?
- Ḥadīth [20/486]: It is reported on the authority of Ma’qil bin Yasār (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “If one of you were to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle, that would be better for him than touching a woman who is not permissible for him.”
- Reference: Al-Mu’jam al-Kabīr (486 (20/211-212))
What is the authenticity of this hadith? Because this narration is widely quoted by the ulema to prove that shaking hands with opposite gender is absolutely prohibited but Ghamidi Sahab says handshakes are permissible
