    Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

I read the Quran and when I come to the verse where He says something like, Muhammad is not the father of a man but messenger and the seal of Prophets. It tells me to acknowledge what is said just like Bani Israel were told to slaughter a cow. Now, I have acknowledged that he is a messenger and the seal of Prophets. How do we become curious if he was the last messenger or not, because I have asked the same question in my mind from Bani Israel about why ask the color of the cow. There lack of reason, seems to have had them nearly go astray?

If I don’t have reason to be curious and there is no ambiguity in the verse why open the Hadith literature about whether or not the scholars say the it is narrated that He said that he was the seal of either?

The phrase Khatam al Nabiyyeen, means the seal of the prophet. It means the last of the prophets. The meaning is explicit, and no one ever denied it, not even the ones who assume that there is a certain kind of prophet who can come. They claim that the phrase seals the coming of the prophets with Shariah, not without Shariah. This claim is not supported by the words themselves.

Dear brother, Allah says Khatam ul Nabiyeen. I ask why do we say khatam ul Nabiyeen wal mursaleen?

It is choice of words by some people.

    The word Nabi includes Rasul.

May Allah guide us. Just an advice, Choose an authority and don’t say of what you have no authority. For me, I have accepted Quran as the Authority of The Ultimate sovereign.

Nabi is a Rasul. But Rasul is not a Nabi. So if Nabihood is sealed, it does not imply that Rasulhood is also sealed. Just like Nabi is Insan but Insan is not a Nabi.
Rasul still come take our soul, see 6:61.Rasul read to you the signs of Allah, see 2:151Rasul does many things which are similar to a Nabi but if he’s not a Nabi he will follow up what the previous Nabi brought, see 2:87.
This is not the problem of whether a rasul can come after Nabihood is sealed. The problem is that why did we ask a question where everything was clear. It is clear that Muhammad the seal of Nabiyeen. Why do you scholars ask about the seal of Mursaleen. If you don’t, why do you call Muhammad what Allah has not called him?
