I watched a video (attached) in which the title mentions that Sir Javed Ahmad Ghamidi says that Sahih al-Bukhari is not a book of religion but a book of history.
Could you please clarify this point? Specifically, where has Imam Bukhari himself stated that his book is a book of history rather than a book of religion? Is there any statement in the introduction, title, or elsewhere in his works that supports this understanding?

It is a book that records the sayings of the prophet. Therefore, it is primarily a book of history like any other book that records the sayings of a historical personality. However, since it records the sayings of a prophet, it contains the religious teachings of the prophet.
