    Assalamu Alaikum

The Prophet (sws) has repeatedly declared in clear and explicit words that he himself is the last of the prophets. Furthermore, he has also made it clear that not only the rank and position of prophethood have been terminated, its essence has also been terminated. Thus no possibility remains for a person to receive divine revelations or visions or to converse and come in contact with God. After the termination of the institution of prophethood, all these things have ended too. (See:Al-Bukhārī, nos. 3335, 3455, 6990) (Al-Bayan; Al-Ahzab-40)

How does this Ayah can mean/imply the termination of Prophethood in its essence. That one cannot come in contact with God at all. Like the institution of Prophethood, that God chooses some people in order to guide humanity to succeed in the hereafter, which started with Adam SAW and ended at Prophet SAW has come to an end is there in the verse; but the denial coming in contact with God isn’t there. This can be confirmed by the Hadith of “mubasharaat/ru’ya saliha (a good dream)”. If dreams then the door to that God can contact humans when they are awake and might guide/inspire them on individual level without adding anything to the Islam isn’t denied in the verse as well. So the sufis who claim that they have gotten inspired/revelation and gotten commands to guide others based on the revelation can be defied based on this verse. But those who say that they have gotten this inspiration from God on some worldly or even religious matter which doesn’t go against the Quran, how can they be defied?
