    Asalam o Alikum,

    6 Questions regarding soul

1- When a child is born, he has no soul, yet he can move, suck his thumb, and his heart is beating. Then, after four months, an angel comes and gives him a soul. How is a child alive without a soul?

2- An animal is alive; it possesses consciousness, intelligence and sense of love, kindness, and help. Do these faculties exist because of the soul, or has God programmed them like that without a soul?

3-If a man is in a coma and his brain is damaged, where is his Ruh (soul)?

4-Where is data stored—in the soul or the brain? If it is in the brain, then without the resurrection of body, the soul is like a blank slate.

5-Does the soul also feel pain?

6-If we create a species exactly like a human being, would this be proof of the soul’s non-existence?

    JazakAllah.

There is no concept of Ruh or soul in Islam. Ruh, in the Quranic terminology, is the Amr or command of God that He instills in a body that possesses senses. This Ruh, or command of God, gives human personality to the child.

So The command gives the personality, can you please elaborate what does personality mean, and why personality can’t come into existence without command, animals do have certain personality so they also have Ruh as you described above.

    Thanks
