Communal Obligation
Posted by Muhammad Arham on July 8, 2026 at 2:27 pmIs there any situation in which a communal obligation becomes individual obligation specifically in case of preaching?

1. We know that normally Islam has placed the obligation of preaching on community which is done through scholars. Their job is to do Inzaar. But I see a few doing this and most are involved in endless debates. Thus the duty is not being done fully.
2. Then there is the moral state of our society which keeps getting worse and unfortunately not much is done practically.
3. Then most importantly, as discussed in other forum, that if we will not improve our moral state, we will be punished by God in both this and next world.
4. Lastly I would say I am a student of Farahi school and I sense this cause needs help. More and more people should be aware of this school of thought to learn about Islam in the correct way.
So i feel its an obligation for me to choose a life which would address all these points.
After witnessing all this, my inner voice says that I should not have a materialistic selfish life like focusing for bigger house, better car etc as most people do. Instead I should choose to do something about the problems of my society which also has its own price. As I would also be held accountable for my silence.
Now kindly guide me if I am wrong about what I’m experiencing? Would I be sinful for ignoring my inner voice?
