I am finding it difficult to understand why ʿaqīqah and walīmah are not considered Sunnah, whereas practices such as cutting nails, etc is sunnah.

Please correct me if I am mistaken, but my understanding is that the issue with ʿaqīqah and walīmah is not that they are not established through ijma and ʿamalī tawātur.

From what I understand, Ghamidi Sahib’s position is that ʿaqīqah and walīmah are not deeni acts (mustaqill bi al-dhāt) and therefore cannot be classified as Sunnah.

However, why can’t ʿaqīqah and walīmah be regarded as part of tathīr al-akhlāq? Aren’t they expressions of moral values such as feeding relatives and guests, strengthening family ties, and sharing one’s blessings with others?

If cutting the nails is considered Sunnah because it falls under tathīr al-badan, then why can’t ʿaqīqah be considered Sunnah as part of tathīr al-akhlāq?

The Reality of Aqiqah is to show gratitude for having a child. Gratitude can have more than one form; these forms are not specified by the Prophet. Therefore, Aqiqah is not prescribed as Sunnah.

The reality of Waliman is celebration of a happy moment. It has nothing to do with Sunnah. Sunnah must be a thing that is religious in its nature.

The rationale you indicate can be pointed out in any good act. But not all good acts are Sunnah. Sunnah is specifically prescribed by the Prophet.

I do understand that a good deed (such as deeds associated with tathir e akhlaq) or deeni deed (ibadat) becomes sunnah when its prescribed by Prophet and that it has been transmitted to us by ijma/tawatur.

For example, eating with right hand is considered sunnah and is prescribed by Prophet:

      (Bukhari 5376)

Then why can’t aqiqah be called sunnah due to the following prescription by Prophet:

There is another narration where Hasan explicitly says that he heard this narration from Samura:

Does this not prove that there is no tadlees in atleast this narration of Hasan from Samura?
