Is Ruju Possible After Signing Three Talaq On Paper Without Saying Verbally?
Assalamoalaikum. My question is about divorce. My brother has divorced his wife on paper but not by words. On paper there were written 3 talaq and he signed on paper with 2 witnesses. he dint even spoken a single sentence of talaq yet. He also unaware of something like if someone say 3 talaq in a row or sign on 3 talaq on paper then there wont be any chance of Ruju. It’s been 1 month so is he still have a time to revert or Ruju? Kindly ask.this question to ghamidi sahb.

It is only a single ṭalāq that has taken place. There is still an opportunity for reconciliation because the waiting period (ʿiddah) has begun, which lasts for three menstrual cycles.
The Qur’an does not prescribe pronouncing the word “ṭalāq” three times in one sitting. Rather, it speaks of three separate occasions in the divorce process, with each stage allowing time for reflection, reconciliation, and, if possible, the restoration of the marriage.
Unfortunately, even legal divorce documents are often prepared as though a triple ṭalāq is being issued at the very first step. This practice is inconsistent with the Qur’anic method. A single ṭalāq is sufficient to initiate the divorce process. If reconciliation does not take place during the waiting period, the divorce becomes effective. If, after reconciliation and the resumption of marital life, the same situation arises again, the process may be repeated on a second occasion; only after the third separate divorce does the marriage become irrevocably terminated.
The wisdom of this Qur’anic procedure lies in preventing hasty decisions and preserving the family wherever possible. Instant triple ṭalāq defeats this purpose by collapsing a gradual, deliberate process into a single moment, whereas the Qur’an requires patience, due process, and repeated opportunities for reconciliation.

You mentioned that “If reconciliation does not take place during the waiting period, the divorce becomes effective.”
Does that means that after three talaq on paper no reconciliation occurs and papers submitted to union council and certificate issued, it becomes effective and there is no possibility?
I remember on another post, you had mentioned that new nikah with new haq mahar and new three divorce rights could be done.
Please shed some light.

If it is the first occasion of divorce (no matter whether he uttered or wrote three divorces), and he did not reconcile during iddat, the Talaq is effective; however, they can make a new nikah.
